Friends of the Fair is an exciting new membership initiative, the newest chapter for the Auckland Fair and is a fresh way for the loyal Auckland Fair community to remain engaged and connected to the event and sponsors. To mark the occasion, the Auckland Fair wished to hold a launch event with a combination of media and long-time supporters. It was to be an intimate setting with under 20 invited guests, and needed to feel special with the primary objective of being so beautiful, it would be easily shared across social media.
The theme was to be elegant and sophisticated, ensuring guests felt special and to emulate the exclusivity of the membership card. The cards themselves are silver, which worked well with a monochrome and metallic colour palette, this was softened through the green foliage and linen textures of the floral arrangements. Vignettes were composed throughout the venue to create easily snapped content for social sharing.
Using Mojo Durham Lane as the venue, this lent itself well to the close nature of the occasion. With a long central table, this enabled guests to sit and chat without feeling pressured for time having an afternoon tea of cakes decorated with flowers served with coffee. The setting of the cafe was the perfect compliment to the Auckland Fair, with it’s bespoke, hand finished elements within the cafe such as parquet wooden serving counter, brass finishes and restored original features.
Goodie bags were all handmade with careful attention to detail; personalised cards were packaged in white gift boxes, nestled in silver tissue with monochrome confetti and tied with black ribbon. Boxes were added to white bags, complete with partner vouchers and literature on the cards themselves, then wrapped with black ribbons and finished with a handmade gift tag of the recipients name. Each guest was able to take home a beautiful posie of spring blooms, which enabled another social sharing opportunity.
