What began as a passion-project founded by Jessica in 2010, the Auckland Fair is now held 3 times a year and is a fixture on the Auckland events calendar and is still going strong. Showcasing a curated selection of New Zealand’s best contemporary design, art and craft, where ‘Makers’ can connect with customers, buyers and each other on the one platform for one day the aim is to provide a platform that empowers handmade artists and raises the profile within New Zealand.
With over 130, hand chosen creatives on offer on the day, over 5,000 visitors through the door and an enviable social community, the Auckland Fair has an excellent reputation for being ‘the best of the best’.
Jessica works hard on all facets of this event, including pre-event marketing, graphic design, social media management, publicity, sponsorship liaison, business development and community management. Managing all day to day running such as budgets, cost projections, supplier management, logistics, administration, venue management, layout design and more. In addition to this, there is talent sourcing, creative concepts for activations, managing all artists involved and dealing with over 130 unique personalities.
Due to the unique location, Shed 10, where the event is held, logistics on the big day are run like a military operation. With all suppliers, service providers and Makers gaining venue access for pack-in on the morning of, and pack-down is required that same day.
